BUSD Takes Flight: Berachain Renames Stablecoin Amid Slumping Activity

Instruments
ONE HONEY BUSD

Berachain has rebranded its HONEY stablecoin to BUSD as chain activity on Layer 1 drops to near-record lows. The change, announced on August 19, 2026, sees the token's name and symbol updated, but not its contract address or underlying functionality.

The move comes at a time when on-chain activity is low, which may put pressure on DeFi integrations and demand for tokens in the crypto ecosystem. The Berachain Foundation has stated that the rebranding does not affect the token's stability or usability.
