Businesses Flock to Bitcoin Amid Crypto Market Downturn
Businesses have significantly increased their Bitcoin holdings in the second quarter of 2026, acquiring a total of 115,000 BTC according to data released by River. This trend aligns with a broader pattern of institutional accumulation in the crypto market.
In contrast, individual investors sold 78,000 BTC during the same period. The increased corporate holdings now account for over 6% of Bitcoin's total supply, which markets appear to view as potentially supportive of future price increases.
Prediction markets show varied expectations for Bitcoin's price movement by August 1, 2026. The likelihood of Bitcoin reaching $67,500 in July has seen a notable increase, now priced at 46% YES, up from 24% a week ago.
