Buterin Bets Big on Bitcoin's Ability to Adapt AI-Driven Threats

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has responded to AI-driven Bitcoin forecasts that predict a 50% crash within two years.

According to Liron Shapira, an AI-risk commentator, there is a 50% probability that Bitcoin will fall more than 50% in value over the next two years due to potential security vulnerabilities introduced by advanced artificial intelligence systems.

Buterin disagrees with this prediction and claims that he has already wagered against it through his crypto holdings, with roughly 90% of his net worth exposed to a scenario where Bitcoin's price plummets due to AI-driven security threats.

The Ethereum co-founder argues that Bitcoin's security model is not frozen forever and can adapt to emerging vulnerabilities. He believes that the network can respond to problems through client or mining-pool changes, making it unlikely for core hashes or proof-of-work itself to be broken.
