Buterin Credits Bitcoin Devs for UTXO Influence on Ethereum
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently credited Bitcoin developers for pioneering UTXO-style concepts that are now being considered for Ethereum's scaling architecture. In response, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson expressed amusement at the acknowledgment.
The UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) concept is a fundamental aspect of Bitcoin's design and has been influential in the development of other cryptocurrencies. However, Ethereum has traditionally used a different approach known as account-based architecture.
In an exchange highlighting protocol design competition in crypto around UTXO, Buterin acknowledged that Bitcoin developers had indeed pioneered several ideas now influencing Ethereum's proposed approach. Hoskinson's reaction to this acknowledgment was one of amusement.
