Buterin Disagrees with AI-Driven Prediction of Over 50% BTC Price Crash

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed optimism about cryptocurrency security on Sunday, contradicting predictions of a Bitcoin price crash due to AI threats.

Buterin responded to an X post by Silicon Valley entrepreneur Liron Shapira, who predicted that AI could undermine Bitcoin's security and trigger a more than 50% price crash within two years.

However, Buterin took the opposite side, expressing confidence in Bitcoin's ability to handle issues that do not require social consensus. He added that he could offer a conventional bet against Shapira, but he doesn't need to, as roughly 90% of his net worth is already held in cryptocurrency.
