Buterin Dismisses AI Threat to Bitcoin's Security
Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has weighed in on concerns that advancements in artificial intelligence could compromise Bitcoin's security system, potentially leading to a price drop of over 50% in BTC. However, Buterin is not convinced that AI poses a significant threat to Bitcoin's network.
In an interview, Buterin stated that the fundamental security mechanisms of the Bitcoin network are 'significantly resilient' to potential attacks. He argued that updating client software and mining pools can address any potential vulnerabilities in the network layer.
Buterin also expressed skepticism about the likelihood of AI compromising Bitcoin's hash function or Proof-of-Work (PoW) mechanism, which form the basis of its security model. According to him, these systems will continue to play a crucial role in protecting the network in the future.
