Buterin Ditches AI Warning of 50%+ Bitcoin Crash
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has dismissed a warning from Silicon Valley investor Liron Shapira that artificial intelligence (AI) could trigger a significant Bitcoin crash. According to Shapira, AI could weaken the network's security and lead to a 50% or bigger drop in value within two years.
Buterin rejected this prediction as extremely low-risk and stated that around 90% of his net worth is already invested in Bitcoin. This means he has a substantial stake in the cryptocurrency's success, which makes his opinion on this matter significant.
While Shapira's warning highlights the potential risks associated with AI, Buterin believes that the benefits of adopting AI in the crypto space outweigh the risks. He emphasized the importance of exploring and leveraging AI technology to improve the security and efficiency of blockchain networks.
