Vitalik Buterin has weighed in on the ongoing debate about the security of Bitcoin, specifically regarding the potential threat posed by AI. In a discussion sparked by Liron Shapira's claim that there's a 50% chance BTC could crash more than 50% within two years due to AI undermining its security guarantees, Buterin countered that most of his net worth is already in crypto.

Shapira argued that AI-assisted attackers could find flaws in node software or wallet code, and developers and operators can patch these. However, he noted that any attack on Bitcoin's core rules would require a hard fork and broad consensus.
