Buterin Says Bitcoin Can Handle Security Issues with Standard Updates
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently addressed concerns about Bitcoin's security challenges.
According to him, Bitcoin can handle its security issues with standard software and mining pool updates without needing broad social consensus.
In a statement, Buterin dismissed the risk of AI causing Bitcoin's price to drop over 50% in the next two years, emphasizing that breaking Bitcoin's core cryptography is extremely low-risk.
He highlighted Bitcoin's strong proof-of-work system, which has resisted 51% attacks historically, and noted AI's potential to enhance blockchain security through formal code verification.
