Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has unveiled a proposal to enhance user privacy on the Ethereum network without waiting for major protocol upgrades.

The roadmap, shared on April 11 via Ethereum Magicians, outlines incremental yet impactful steps that developers and wallet providers can implement immediately to protect user data.

Buterin's vision is centered around shifting default settings in wallets and applications toward private features like shielded balances, private token transfers, and address rotation per dApp.

The four key areas of focus are: private onchain payments, partial anonymization within apps, private chain reads, and network-level anonymization.
