Bybit Bolsters Collateral Options with Tokenized Stocks
Bybit has expanded its collateral options by adding six tokenized stocks to its margin and loan services. This move allows users to pledge their xStock tokenized equity holdings as collateral, enabling them to borrow crypto without converting their underlying shares. The exchange has integrated these assets into its credit and leverage systems, treating them similarly to cryptocurrencies.
The six xStock assets included in the expansion are related to companies such as Tesla, Apple, and MicroStrategy. Bybit's move signals a shift in how major exchanges view tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), integrating them directly into crypto exchange credit and leverage systems. This integration suggests that the exchange has built a risk framework to handle volatility correlation differences between stocks and crypto.
The inclusion of tokenized equities expands beyond cryptocurrency collateral, offering institutional clients better capital efficiency when managing multi-asset portfolios inside a single venue. Bybit's scale, as the second-highest trading volume among global crypto exchanges, gives this trend market-moving weight.
