Bybit Catches $700M in Potential User Losses with AI-Boosted Security
Bybit, the second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has strengthened its security defenses in response to evolving crypto threats. The company intercepted $700 million in potential user losses during the first half of 2026.
The enhanced security measures include three layers of protection: user and account security, real-time on-chain monitoring, and AI-assisted security operations. Bybit's objective is to create a security system that can continuously learn from emerging threats and reduce the time between detection and intervention.
According to Bybit's H1 2026 Risk & Security Report, the company identified $212 million in potential fraud-linked on-chain funds and blacklisted more than 10,000 malicious addresses. Bybit also completed relevant emergency responses before other major exchanges in eight cases involving listed token projects.
