Bybit Closes Options Data Gap with Institutional-Grade Analytics Upgrade
Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has upgraded its Options Data section to provide traders with institutional-grade analytics. This upgrade addresses a long-standing gap between retail and institutional traders.
The redesign integrates these advanced tools into a cleaner, more accessible interface for all users, making it easier for traders to navigate the complexities of options markets.
Options trading has gained popularity among digital asset derivatives traders, who are increasingly using alternative strategies that account for volatility, time decay, and risk management. The upgrade follows Bybit's market-leading performance in the first half of 2026, where it commanded a 22.4% market share in crypto options trading for retail users.
The new tools include BVOL (Bybit Volatility Index), which tracks live against 30-day realized volatility (RV30); Max Pain, a visual breakdown of open interest and volume; Position Structure, showing the distribution of open interest and volume by notional value or contract count; and Market Activity, tracking Gamma Exposure (GEX) and other key metrics.
These enhancements respond to a structural feature of options markets: price alone rarely tells the full story. By providing institutional-grade analytics to retail traders, Bybit Options aims to bridge the gap between these two groups.
