Bybit Hires Regulator Veteran to Head Global Compliance
Dubai-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitby has appointed Peter Loo as its new Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. Loo, who was most recently chief operating officer at blockchain business MANTRA, will oversee Bybit's global legal, regulatory and compliance strategy.
In this role, Loo will be responsible for strengthening internal governance, advancing licensing efforts, and fostering constructive engagement with regulators worldwide.
Bybit is the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. Co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou said: 'Peter brings a depth of experience that is both rare and highly relevant to where Bybit is headed.'
Loo has previously worked in various regulatory roles, including as general counsel and head of sector development at Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority.
