Bybit Introduces Perpetual Contracts for Major Currency Pairs
The Bybit cryptocurrency exchange has introduced new perpetual contracts for three major currency pairs: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and USD/JPY. These contracts are settled in USDT and can be traded with up to 100 times leverage.
The introduction of these contracts brings the traditional financial derivatives market (TradFi) closer to the cryptocurrency market. The perpetual contracts do not have an expiration date and can be traded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Bybit platform has already introduced over 200 financial instruments, including stocks, commodities, ETFs, and pre-IPO companies. The global FX market is the largest and most liquid in the world, with a daily average turnover of $9.6 billion in April 2025, according to the Bank for International Settlements.
The perpetual contracts are suitable for experienced traders who already know how to trade with leverage and want to speculate on major currency pairs without having to use traditional forex brokers. They can also be useful for those who already hold cryptocurrencies and want to combine their positions on the same platform.
