Bybit has filed a lawsuit against North Korea and the Lazarus Group over a $1.5 billion hack, seeking to freeze assets linked to the attack.

The cryptocurrency derivatives exchange alleges that the hackers used Bybit's APIs to withdraw funds from user accounts in September 2022.

The suit, filed in New York federal court, claims that the Lazarus Group, a North Korean state-sponsored hacking collective, is responsible for the heist.
