Bybit Sues North Korea Over $1.5B Crypto Heist

Bybit has filed a civil lawsuit against North Korea and its intelligence service, the Reconnaissance General Bureau (RGB), over the $1.5 billion crypto theft that occurred in February 2025.

The U.S. federal court granted a preliminary injunction covering certain stolen digital assets, preventing their transfer or dissipation while the case continues.

Bybit claims the measure is intended to preserve digital assets that may still be recoverable and plans to seek further relief from the court.
