Bybit Sues North Korea Over Record-Breaking Crypto Heist

Bybit has taken action against North Korea in connection with a massive cryptocurrency theft that occurred on February 21, 2025. The attack resulted in the loss of over $1.5 billion in digital assets from the exchange.

The stolen funds included more than 400,000 ETH and stETH, valued at approximately $1.5 billion at the time.

Bybit has filed a lawsuit against North Korea, its Reconnaissance General Bureau (RGB), Lazarus, and unknown individuals and entities in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
