Bybit Unveils 24/7 Stock Options Trading on Perpetual Contracts
Crypto exchange Bybit is set to revolutionize the way traders access equity-based financial instruments. Starting on September 17, 2026, at 20:00 UTC, the platform will offer perpetual contracts for two high-profile stocks: SpaceX (SPCX) and Nvidia (NVDA). This move aims to provide 24/7 trading opportunities, eliminating the constraints of traditional market hours.
The exchange confirmed that settlements will be executed exclusively in USDT, a stablecoin, and users will have access to fractional lots. This feature is designed to lower the capital entry barriers for high-valuation assets and private companies like SpaceX. Bybit's platform also allows traders to execute advanced strategies such as spreads, straddles, and covered calls.
The expansion of synthetic derivatives and TradFi integration is a significant trend in the industry. Global volume for perpetual contracts on tokenized stocks surged from $85 billion in January to $470 billion by the close of June 2026. Bybit's product does not directly replicate equity options cleared through centralized clearinghouses, instead using contracts over synthetic perpetuals.
The introduction of stock perpetual options is expected to attract more traders and increase liquidity on the platform. Bybit plans to expand its offering to include contracts for Tesla (TSLA), the QQQ index fund, the leveraged ETF SOXL, and Micron (MU) in the future.
