Bybit Unveils 24/7 Stock Options with Perpetual Contracts
Crypto exchange Bybit is expanding its options products by launching 24/7 options on stock perpetuals. The new feature will allow users to trade options contracts tied to stocks, starting with SpaceX (SPCX) and Nvidia (NVDA), from September 17th at 8 p.m. UTC. These contracts will support portfolio margin and strategies such as buying and selling options, spreads, straddles, and covered calls.
Bybit plans to add new expiries regularly and expand the offering to additional underlyings, including Tesla (TSLA), QQQ, SOXL, and Micron (MU). The exchange said the new products are designed to give users access to U.S. equity options without traditional market-hour restrictions or the standard 100-share contract minimum.
The growth in tokenized-equity perp volume is notable, increasing from $85 billion in January to about $470 billion in June, according to a previous report by The Block. SpaceX was the most-traded equity perp in June, with more than $66 billion in volume.
