Bybit Unveils Ambitious European Expansion Plans

Bybit, a global cryptocurrency exchange, is expanding its presence in Europe by combining crypto trading, banking-style services, tokenized stocks, and regulated derivatives on a single platform. The company has secured MiCA and electronic money institution licenses in Austria, allowing it to offer users features such as holding accounts with IBANs, receiving salaries, paying bills, and making local or third-party transfers.

To further expand its services, Bybit is pursuing a MiFID II license, which would enable the exchange to offer regulated derivatives, stocks, and commodities to European clients. The company plans to continue working with partners such as xStocks for tokenized equities rather than building every service internally.

The goal of this expansion is to create an all-in-one platform that meets the needs of retail customers in Europe. Bybit's global platform already offers USDT-settled perpetual contracts tied to U.S. stocks, exchange-traded funds, and commodities, but European customers have been excluded from these products due to regulatory clearance issues.
