Bybit Unveils Industry-First Perp Options Trading with SpaceX and Nvidia
Bybit has expanded its derivatives offerings with the launch of Perp Options, a new product that combines equity perpetual contracts with options trading. The company describes this as an industry first, although it's worth noting that this characterization is Bybit's own assessment.
The first two markets available for trading on September 17, 2026 at 20:00 UTC are SPCX (SpaceX) and NVDA (Nvidia). These contracts settle in USDT and have a contract multiplier of 1, matching the mechanics used by Bybit's equity perpetual contracts.
The new product integrates with Bybit's Unified Trading Account and Portfolio Margin systems, allowing users to cross-hedge spot, perpetual, and options positions from a single margin account. This is designed to support strategies such as spreads, straddles, and covered calls, giving traders more flexibility in managing their equity exposure.
Bybit plans to add TSLA, QQQ, SOXL, and MU at a later stage, but has not provided a specific timeline for these additions. The choice of SpaceX as one of the opening underlyings is notable, as it gives traders indirect exposure to a business whose shares are not listed on a public exchange.
