California Court Appoints Receiver for Cryptocurrency Assets in Marital Dissolution Case
A California court has appointed Stephen J. Donell as Interim Receiver to secure cryptocurrency assets in a marital dissolution matter, Knox v. Knox.
The Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Riverside named Mr. Donell on July 6, 2026, to take possession and control of cryptocurrency holdings, including exchange accounts, digital wallets, and physical storage devices used to hold cryptocurrency offline.
Mr. Donell has extensive experience as a court-appointed receiver in state and federal courts since 1990, administering hundreds of cases spanning various asset classes and industries.
