California Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Kidnapping, Bitcoin Robbery
A California man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a kidnapping and Bitcoin robbery scheme. Adam Iza, 26, was arrested in September 2024 on unrelated charges and later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery.
The case involved the carjacking of a Lamborghini Urus and the kidnapping of its two occupants in Danbury on August 25, 2024. Investigators found that Iza had communicated with the kidnappers via cellphone and encrypted messaging apps and provided funding for the scheme.
Iza's brother, Saif Faiq, has also pleaded guilty to the same offense and is awaiting sentencing. The six men who carried out the carjacking and kidnapping have also pleaded guilty, while other co-conspirators are awaiting trial.
