Canadian Crypto Adoption Hits Record High: 25% Now Own Digital Assets
A recent survey by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) reveals that more than one in four Canadians now own cryptocurrency or invest in crypto funds, marking a significant increase from previous years.
The study found that 25% of Canadians currently hold digital assets or crypto investment funds, up from just 10% in 2023 and 13% in 2022. This means that nearly 39% of Canadian investors now own some form of crypto product.
Eric Richmond, Country Director for Coinbase Canada, stated that the report confirms the growing mainstream acceptance of digital assets. 'Digital assets are now mainstream in Canada, and they look for platforms they can rely on to do just that.'
The survey also showed a significant increase in awareness, with nearly 59% of Canadians correctly identifying what a crypto asset is.
