Canary Capital Launches Staked TRX ETF as Institutional Demand for Tron Grows
Canary Capital has launched the Canary Staked TRX ETF (TRXS), offering U.S. investors exposure to TRON's spot price and staking rewards.
The move comes as institutional interest in TRON continues to rise, despite a lackluster performance by its native cryptocurrency, TRX. In August, TRX gained just 1% while Ethereum surged over 30%, but underlying data suggests the Tron network is accumulating liquidity and demand.
According to DeFiLlama data, USDT supply on Tron has surpassed $92 billion, more than 50% of total Tether supply, compared to Ethereum's $73 billion. This trend indicates growing adoption and utility for TRON, which could support the launch of a staking ETF.
The inclusion of Tron Inc. (NASDAQ: TRON) in major U.S. indexes has also attracted institutional investors, with heavyweights like BlackRock and Vanguard taking stakes in the company. With nearly 700 million TRX held in its treasury, valued at over $240 million, Tron Inc.'s stock price rose 25% in August.
The launch of a staking ETF could encourage investors to hold and stake their TRX, potentially causing a supply shock and driving up the price. With institutional demand already on the rise, this move may have significant implications for TRON's market dynamics.
