Canary HBAR ETF Hits $47.8M Milestone Despite Market Volatility
The Canary HBAR ETF has been gaining traction since its launch on Nasdaq in October 2025, and recent data shows it now holds a significant amount of Hedera's native token. As of July 30, the fund held approximately $47.8 million in net assets, with around 704.35 million HBAR tokens backing it.
The ETF's sponsor fee is set at 0.95%, and despite its growth in share count from 5.13 million to 5.18 million between July 28 and 29, the fund has still experienced a significant decline in value, with a 37.32% year-to-date market-price drop.
Canary's marketing push for the ETF on July 30 highlighted HBAR as the first U.S. spot exchange-traded product holding Hedera's native token. However, this is not a new launch announcement, and it's worth noting that HBR began trading on Nasdaq in October 2025.
The asset manager has also emphasized that HBR provides price exposure through brokerage accounts without requiring investors to manage private keys, making it an attractive option for those looking to invest in Hedera's token. However, Canary does warn that the product is not diversified and that investors could lose their entire principal.
