Canton Network Launches Trump-Backed Stablecoin USD1 for Institutional Use
The Canton Network has announced that World Liberty Financial's USD1 stablecoin is now live on its platform, offering institutions a dollar-based settlement tool for tokenized real-world assets.
This move allows USD1 to be issued natively on the Canton Network, rather than being bridged from another blockchain. This means that the cash and asset sides of a trade can settle in the same transaction, reducing settlement risk in institutional trades involving tokenized securities, bonds, or government debt.
Canton's system synchronizes both transfers so neither side completes before the other, applying privacy and permissioning controls while staying compliant with regulated market requirements. The network processes over $9 trillion in tokenized assets each month, with more than $350 billion in onchain US Treasurys moving daily.
USD1 launched in March 2025 and is backed by short-term US Treasurys, government money market funds, and dollar deposits. Its market cap has grown from over $2 billion to $4.05 billion since its planned integration with Canton was first announced in December 2025.
