Canton Network Welcomes World Liberty Financial's USD1 Stablecoin
World Liberty Financial has expanded its USD1 stablecoin's capabilities by launching it natively on the Canton Network. This move will allow institutions to use the stablecoin as a cash leg for transactions involving tokenized real-world assets, such as derivatives collateral and institutional lending.
The integration follows Canton's growth as a public, permissionless blockchain designed for institutional finance, processing over $9 trillion in tokenized assets each month. The USD1 stablecoin is the sixth-largest stablecoin, with a market capitalization of around $4.05 billion, according to DeFiLlama data.
USD1 was launched by BitGo Bank & Trust, which manages its reserves and processes mints and redemptions. World Liberty Financial, a Trump family-backed crypto venture, debuted the stablecoin in March 2025, backed by reserves including short-term US Treasurys, government money market funds, and dollar deposits.
This development is part of Canton's expansion plans, which also include a pilot program for distributing state-administered benefits across three US states beginning in 2027. The integration allows USD1 to settle alongside tokenized assets in the same transaction while using Canton's privacy and permissioning controls.
