Capital B Raises $24.5 Million for Bitcoin Expansion
Capital B, a French Bitcoin treasury company, has raised €21 million ($24.5 million) through a private share placement to increase its Bitcoin holdings.
The funding round, which took place on August 28, involved the issuance of ABSA (Action à Bons de Souscription d'Actions), a French financial instrument comprising one share and four share-subscription warrants.
Capital B aims to use the fresh funds to acquire 270 Bitcoin, boosting its total reserves to 3,415 BTC. This move comes as other smaller competitors in the treasury sector have reportedly sold their Bitcoin holdings.
The company's ongoing expansion efforts come amid renewed optimism in the broader cryptocurrency market, with Adam Back, a cypherpunk pioneer and CEO of Blockstream, participating in the funding round alongside French asset management group TOBAM.
