Capital Wallet Greece Lands EU-Wide Expansion with MiCA Authorisation
Capital Wallet Greece has secured a significant milestone in its expansion plans after being granted one of the country's first Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorisations by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC). This approval comes under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), which establishes a single rulebook for crypto-asset services across the EU.
The authorisation is more than just a regulatory approval; it serves as a growth platform. Under MiCA's passporting regime, Capital Wallet Greece can now extend its regulated services to all 27 member states from a single base in Athens.
The company has been authorised to provide six of the ten crypto-asset services defined by MiCA: custody and administration of crypto-assets on behalf of clients; exchange of crypto-assets for funds; exchange of crypto-assets for other crypto-assets; execution of orders for crypto-assets on behalf of clients; reception and transmission of orders for crypto-assets on behalf of clients; and transfer services for crypto-assets on behalf of clients.
'This authorisation is a defining moment for us,' said Evangelos Tanampasidis, CEO of Capital Wallet Greece. 'We set out to build a crypto-asset business on institutional-grade regulatory foundations, and the HCMC's decision validates that strategy.'
