Cardano ADA Price Tests $0.20 Support Amid Record Liquidation Imbalance
Cardano's ADA is facing a crucial test as it hovers around the $0.20 support level, amid a significant imbalance in leveraged liquidations. According to Coinglass, Cardano saw a total of $1.17 million in liquidations over the last 24 hours, with long positions accounting for $1.16 million and shorts at just $11,410.
This massive disparity in liquidations, totaling a staggering 10,166%, highlights the heavy impact on one side of the derivatives market, the longs, raising concerns about increased volatility if ADA breaks decisively from its current range.
The crypto market's downturn is attributed to Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's hawkish remarks at the Jackson Hole event, which have boosted September rate hike odds to 42% from 35% a day earlier. This has caused a decline in Cardano's price, down 3.66% in the last 24 hours.
Cardano is also working towards its Dijkstra era, with ongoing node development and protocol parameters supporting infrastructure and node diversity. Upcoming node releases, including Node 11.2 and 11.3, are expected to unlock early Dijkstra functionality for testing, but should not be considered the hard-fork-ready release.
