Cardano ADA Tumbles Despite Whale Buying and Testnet Success
Cardano's ADA token has been experiencing a downturn in recent days, dropping over 7% this week to trade near $0.210 on Friday.
Despite this price weakness, whale wallets have been buying up tokens during the dip, accumulating 160 million ADA since Sunday, according to Santiment data. However, this buying interest has not yet reversed the short-term slide in ADA's price.
The long-to-short ratio for ADA on CoinGlass sits at 0.74, near its lowest point in over a month, indicating bearish sentiment among traders. On the other hand, the funding rate turned positive on Thursday, with a reading of 0.0013% on Friday, suggesting some degree of bullish positioning in the market.
The Leios testnet, a development project by Cardano's team, has delivered strong results, reaching six times current mainnet throughput during its 41-day test phase. The next testing phase, called Water, is already live and includes a rewards program for stake pool operators.
