Cardano Anchors Half Million Supply Chain Records in Brazil
The Cardano Foundation and Blockforce, a Brazilian technology firm, have partnered to create a supply chain verification system using Cardano's blockchain network. Over 500,000 commercial records have already been anchored with cryptographic evidence.
Blockforce's uVerify system uses Hyperledger Fabric for private registration of transactions, which are then converted into public proofs and stored on the Cardano blockchain. This double-ledger approach ensures data integrity while keeping sensitive business information confidential.
The solution is expected to support up to 6.5 million certificates by 2030, with contracts already in place to anchor this number of records. Blockforce plans to extend the solution to other sectors, including automobile manufacturing and pharmaceutical production.
By bundling multiple certificates together before anchoring them publicly, Blockforce can reduce costs by approximately 92 percent compared to individual transactions. The system also complies with European regulations, such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation.
