Cardano Breakout Watch: Sony-Backed Listing Could Fuel Momentum
Cardano (ADA) has been quietly building momentum at the edge of a larger move. Traders closely watching ADA have begun to take notice as the price tests a crucial structure that could decide its next major direction.
A fresh influx of real-world news is contributing to this growing interest, particularly the recent addition of ADA and Midnight's privacy-focused token NIGHT (issued through the Midnight network) to Sony-backed Japanese exchange SBLOX. This listing puts Cardano in front of a regulated Japanese audience for the first time on this specific platform.
On-chain data reveals that top 100 ADA addresses hold a significant 75.24% of supply, with a small group of 'whale' wallets controlling 71.35% of market cap. However, this concentration isn't inherently bearish and merely indicates that these larger holders can influence order books if they choose to move.
The current chart structure suggests that ADA is building an ascending channel over recent weeks, with the price attempting a breakout above $0.2885 on the weekly chart. If the price closes a weekly candle above this level, it would open the door to further resistance at $0.5114, then $0.7525, and eventually $1.0203.
