Cardano Decentralizes Development with External Team Transfer
Cardano is shifting its development focus to external teams in an effort to decentralize its infrastructure and move away from relying on a single organization.
The company, Input Output, will transfer key components of Cardano's core infrastructure to independent teams, including the Haskell node, Plutus smart contract platform, Daedalus Wallet, Hydra scaling solution, and developer relations.
Se7en Labs and Teragone have been named as the new teams responsible for these components, with the transition set to begin in August 2023 and continue through 2027.
According to Charles Hoskinson, CEO of Input Output, this move will allow Cardano to 'move more quickly toward a practical model of decentralization' and reduce its dependence on Input Output.
