Cardano Foundation Study Finds Blockchain Can Drive Sustainability Compliance
The Cardano Foundation has completed a three-month research collaboration with CEMS and SGH Warsaw School of Economics to study how public blockchain networks can support global sustainability compliance. The project focused on regulatory pressure, technical capabilities, and practical business applications.
The team began by mapping out the global regulatory landscape, identifying regions where compliance demands are accelerating. India and Europe stood out for their extensive frameworks, with Europe already enforcing mandatory disclosure rules for more than 50,000 enterprises.
A weighted matrix scorecard was developed to evaluate public permissionless blockchains across 14 metrics grouped into business, sustainability, architecture, and strategy categories. Cardano ranked second behind Ethereum, with strengths in cost efficiency and decentralization.
