Cardano's governance model is under scrutiny as its founder Charles Hoskinson embarks on a comprehensive review of over 11,000 decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) to revamp how the network resolves internal disputes.

Hoskinson announced his initiative on X, citing a decade-long research foundation for proposed constitutional amendments and new technology aimed at streamlining governance.

This move comes amidst a contentious funding proposal from Input Output Global (IOG), which seeks 32.9 million ADA to fund Cardano's 2026 research roadmap but is currently facing opposition from 87% of Delegated Representatives.

If the proposal fails, IOG has warned that it will not resubmit and may force layoffs or shut down research labs. Hoskinson is considering registering as a DRep himself to gain a direct vote in Cardano's on-chain system.
