Cardano Governance Erupts as Bons Targets Hoskinson Over Scaling Concerns

Cardano's governance is in turmoil as Cyber Capital's Justin Bons has called for Charles Hoskinson, the founder of IOHK, to be removed from the project. The dispute centers around a proposal by Hoskinson to move some governance discussions to a moderated Discord server, which Bons fears could lead to 'controlled forums' where IOHK-aligned groups have too much influence.

Bons claims that Cardano's maximum capacity is 23 transactions per second in 2026, citing block size limits and 20-second block times. This criticism is part of a larger debate over throughput, adoption, and upgrades on the network.

Hoskinson has defended his proposal, saying it would help reduce 'noise' and allow DReps to focus before votes. However, Cardano supporters have pushed back, accusing Bons of spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt during a sensitive governance phase.
