Cardano Governance Renewal Deadline Looms

Cardano's governance renewal deadline is fast approaching on September 6, 2026. The blockchain's constitutional committee must ratify a governance action by this date to renew four of its seven seats.

If not ratified, the committee will fall below its minimum size of five members, causing a governance standstill where no major network changes like upgrades or treasury withdrawals can be approved.

Voting is ongoing, with about half of delegated representatives and fewer stake pool operators currently approving. ADA holders with self-custody wallets can influence the vote by delegating their voting power to active representatives.
