Cardano Governance Shakeup as EMURGO Exits Intersect Board
Cardano's governance structure is undergoing significant changes following EMURGO's departure from the Intersect board of directors. The decision was made in response to community backlash surrounding the management of the Yoroi wallet, particularly regarding the delegation process.
Dori, a Delegated Representative (DRep), publicly resigned and criticized EMURGO's handling of the situation. Dori stated that the interface design of the Yoroi wallet may have led users to delegate their voting rights to EMURGO's DRep involuntarily, which could compromise decentralized decision-making.
EMURGO had been a key player in Cardano's governance structure alongside the Cardano Foundation and Input Output. However, its commercial performance has been questioned by some community members, who argue that the company failed to meet its expected goals in business development and strategic partnerships.
The price of ADA experienced a significant move by breaking above a descending resistance line, turning it into an immediate technical support zone. The total value locked (TVL) in the network's DeFi ecosystem also increased by over 9% over the past week, reaching nearly $68 million.
