Cardano Governance Vote Clears Risk, ADA Price Surges
Cardano's governance structure has passed a crucial vote, clearing a risk that had been weighing on the project. The Constitutional Committee renewal required 67% of votes from delegated representatives (DRep) and stake pool operators to pass, but received roughly 69.36% support from DRep and 51.18% support from stake pool operators.
This development has removed a governance risk that had been hanging over Cardano in the final days of August. The Constitutional Committee is part of Cardano's three-part governance structure, which also includes delegated representatives and stake pool operators. Committee members assess whether governance actions comply with the constitution before they can be enacted on-chain.
The vote has given a boost to ADA's price, which climbed nearly 4% over the past 24 hours to around $0.206. The Cardano Foundation has also updated its infrastructure, including new functionality for the Constitutional Amendment Portal and stake pool operator scripts.
