Cardano Governance Vote Deadline Looms: Dijkstra Upgrade at Risk
Cardano's Update Constitutional Committee 2026 governance action is nearing its critical voting deadline. Intersect, a key stakeholder, is urging Delegated Representatives (DReps) and Stake Pool Operators (SPOs) to cast their votes before the proposal expires on September 1 at 21:44:51 UTC.
The proposed update is crucial as it will pave the way for Cardano's next major protocol development, known as the Dijkstra era. This upgrade is planned in two stages and aims to introduce significant changes to the network's architecture.
Currently, voting figures indicate that DReps have almost reached their required 67% approval threshold, with participation standing at 66.3%. However, SPO participation remains lower, with only 39% recorded against the required 51% threshold.
If the Update CC 2026 action fails, it could disrupt Cardano's path toward the Dijkstra hard fork and the Leios upgrade. This would have significant implications for upcoming network upgrades, including Treasury Withdrawals, Parameter Updates, Constitution Updates, and Hard Fork Initiations.
