Cardano Governance Votes Lag Behind Deadline
The Cardano network is facing a critical deadline as its governance votes lag behind the required threshold. The Update Constitutional Committee 2026 action will expire on September 1 at 21:44:51 UTC, and only a few hours are left to vote.
According to Intersect, the current voting progress shows that DReps are very close to the required 67% threshold, with 66.3% already achieved. However, SPOs have only reached 39% of the necessary 51% threshold, and a significant shift in participation is still needed.
If the action does not pass, existing committee members' terms will expire, and the committee will fall below the required 'committeeMinSize' of five. This could hinder progress towards the Dijkstra hard fork and Leios upgrade, which require both constitutional and technical updates.
