Cardano Hard Fork Expected Next Month, Hoskinson Confirms
Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano (ADA), confirmed during a livestream that the network is on track for a hard fork 'next month'. This update will bring several improvements to the protocol, including the long-awaited Leios scalability upgrade.
The hard fork timeline was previously unclear, but Hoskinson clarified that it's expected in March. He also mentioned that the Midnight network launch, which connects Cardano to over 80 blockchains, is set for 'next month'. The network will provide users with a stablecoin-like asset called USDCx, designed for non-EVM systems, which preserves privacy and can't be frozen.
Hoskinson emphasized the importance of Cardano's ecosystem momentum, citing growing interest in cross-chain connectivity, stablecoin access, and the launch of new projects. He also highlighted recent developments, including a LayerZero integration and the integration of Pyth as a 'tier one Oracle' for Cardano.
