Cardano Leios Prototype Surpasses 1,000 TPS in Scalability Testing
Cardano's Leios prototype has achieved a significant milestone in scalability testing. Sebastian Nagel, architect of the project, showcased a three-producer, nine-relay cluster that processed approximately 1,000 simple transactions per second (TPS) with under 20ms latency and 50 Mbps constraints.
The test demonstrated throughput 20-30 times greater than Cardano's current mainnet capacity of 4.5 TxkB/s. However, the 1,000 TPS figure is an endorsement rate ahead of full chain confirmation and larger Musashi network trials.
This breakthrough in scalability is a crucial step towards improving the usability and adoption of the Cardano network. As the project continues to develop, it's essential to monitor its progress and how it may impact the broader cryptocurrency market.
