Cardano On-Chain Activity Hits Multi-Year Lows Amid Broader Market Uncertainty
The Cardano (ADA) price has declined by approximately 5.8% over the past 48 hours, trading at $0.1647. This comes as the global crypto market cap dropped roughly 1% to around $2.19 trillion due to renewed geopolitical uncertainty and rising oil prices.
The recent selling pressure on Cardano's price can be attributed to a significant reduction in its on-chain activity. Major metrics such as transaction count, social posts, and contributors have plummeted to multi-year lows, indicating a substantial drop in underlying demand.
According to Alphractal, a prominent crypto analytics platform, the network has disappointed many investors since its 2021 bull market peak. The data shows that transaction volume surged significantly in late 2021 and early 2022, but has now decreased dramatically from hundreds of thousands daily to around 25K daily.
The social metrics also reveal a similar story, with the platform's social contributors monitoring indicating a considerable drop in activity from more than 5,000 to a handful of hundred. The 7-day moving average of social posts has fallen in tandem with the price, closely tracking ADA's price movements.
