Cardano Pogun Platform Mirrors Bitcoin Assets for DeFi Access

Cardano's development company, Input Output Group (IOG), is working on a platform called Pogun to give Bitcoin holders access to DeFi services without giving up custody of their coins. The platform mirrors Bitcoin assets onto the Cardano blockchain, allowing users to interact with lending and stablecoin protocols while keeping their own keys.

The core idea behind Pogun is to tap into the $1.6 trillion worth of idle Bitcoin sitting in wallets. IOG believes that its mirroring technology can unlock this liquidity for DeFi applications on Cardano, creating a win-win situation for both platforms.

Pogun's credit market design sets it apart from other Bitcoin DeFi experiments. It operates without traditional oracles or collateral pools and eliminates margin calls by relying on bilateral agreements between counterparties.
