Cardano Price Predicted to Hit $5 on Network Upgrades and Rising DeFi Activity
Cardano's price has been on an upward trajectory over the past few weeks, and some supporters are now predicting that it could reach $5. The idea is based on a combination of factors, including network upgrades, rising DeFi activity, governance milestones, and Cardano's growing ambitions in areas like Bitcoin DeFi and real-world asset tokenization.
One of the key upgrades mentioned is Ouroboros Leios, which is expected to reach the Cardano mainnet by the end of the year. This upgrade has already shown promising results in testing, with throughput improvements of roughly six times compared to the existing design. The goal is to increase transaction capacity without sacrificing Cardano's security model.
The ADA price matters because scalability remains one of the biggest barriers to attracting larger DeFi applications and higher transaction volumes. If Leios performs on mainnet as it has during testing, Cardano could become far more competitive with faster smart-contract networks.
