Cardano Price Surges as Institutional Interest Grows Amid Bitcoin DeFi Dreams
Cardano's ADA token price has surged to its highest level since early July, thanks in part to optimism surrounding the chain's institutional use and potential expansion into Bitcoin DeFi.
The recent rebound efforts of Cardano's market value are heavily dependent on the growing interest in the chain's institutional investment vehicles based on ADA.
Despite lacking a standalone ETF product on American stock markets, Cardano's institutional use shows in the Midnight sidechain and multiple exchange-traded products (ETPs) in Europe, such as the 21Shares Cardano ETP and Bitwise Physical Cardano ETP.
Charles Hoskinson has stated that Cardano may be sitting on a multi-trillion dollar opportunity by expanding Bitcoin DeFi, bringing lending, yield, borrowing, and other DeFi tools to BTC holders. The gradual launch of Cardano's Midnight mainnet aims to merge these environments, bringing unprecedented capabilities to devoted Bitcoin aficionados.
Cardano's price has risen 24% over the past week, with a market cap increase, but the total number of non-empty wallets remains below levels from two months ago, suggesting stronger institutional or committed buyers absorbing the gains.
